New Nest Hub 2

While not officially announced by Google, the upcoming Nest Hub 2 has found its way into the public domain by an unfortunate update from B&H Photo who listed the new device in their online store.

The listing provided by B&H Photo includes some of the upcoming features of the new Google Nest device, including a 7-inch WSVGA display, a three far-field microphone set up as well as some additional key features below;

The revival of the Soli chip

In addition to these key features, it also includes Googles Soli chip. An addition that opens up new features for the Google Nest 2. The Soli chip is used to detect both minor and major movement, with Google using this to implement a new Sleep Sensing into the device.

This Sleep Sensing functionality senses both motion and sound to track how well you sleep, using this data to provide infographics on your sleep schedule – as well as tips on how to improve your sleep.


The Soli chip also allows using air/ hand gestures to control the device, allowing you to pause video andm usic wtih a gesture – as well as snoozing your alarm with a simple touch of the device.

Price Point & Release Date

The second-generation Google Nest Hub is currently listed for an expected availability date of March 30th 2021. With the price of the device at the time of writing being $99.99 (USD).
